El Sol Nativo/The Native Sun is an example of ceramic murals I have created in New Mexico. This mural is 60" in diameter, and is made of fired and glazed clay. The imagery depicts universal themesand experiences common to many cultures, from left clockwise: the harvest (fruit picker), the family, labor (wood gatherer), musician w/ flute, man and woman, the hunt (deer), romance, woman and man w/ flower, service, and man reading book. The Sun finds its origins in the flame of the Sacred Heart below it.
